Mix Mag
Introducing TSHA, the upcoming DJ who is making a meteoric entrance onto the stage, shouting out her Hï Ibiza set to prove it. Originating from London, this self-taught virtuoso in DJing, production, songwriting, bass, and piano brings an unparalleled work ethic that resonates with such an infectious groove. Since starting in 2020, TSHA has accomplished a series of remarkable feats, including the launch of her well-received first album “Capricorn Sun,” the creation of a fabric presents mix, performances at renowned venues like Glastonbury and Ibiza’s Circoloco, the establishment of her own club night called Jackfruit, the development of a live show featuring a full band, and, most recently, a collaboration with megastars Ellie Goulding and Gregory Porter on the latest single “Somebody.”
A Rising Star
TSHA, AKA Teisha Matthews, stands out as a highly skilled artist stirring up the electronic music scene. Her fusion of eclectic melodies and mesmeric beats crafts a memorable live experience. When TSHA adds her signature touches, the result is an irresistible infusion of house and dance-pop. With a recent Cover Story from Beatportal, TSHA embodies the raw journey through artist-fan vulnerability, transparency and experimentation through live production.
From House and Rave to Emotional Resonance
TSHA immersed herself in the world of DJing and producing house and rave tracks before undergoing a transformative shift towards emotionally resonant sounds. Attending the University of East London for Dance: Urban Practice, she delved into a module on house music and dance, uncovering the genre’s history and its cultural significance. This exploration makes her a guru, marking a pivotal chapter in her artistic evolution. Drawing inspiration from artists like Bonobo, Four Set, and Maribou State, TSHA found a deeper connection to blissful music landscapes.

Sensitivity to Production and Boldness
While TSHA’s production exudes sensitivity and soulfulness, her DJ sets are a burst of bold, vibrant, feel-good energy that keeps hands raised and spirits lifted. Onstage, Matthews captivates audiences with her dancing and engaging persona, seamlessly blending catchy dance classics with purposefully selected underground bangers.
See You in Space
Club Space just rolled out the red carpet in anticipation of TSHA. Her b2b set last night with HAAi dominated the dance floor with a femme interconnectivity that cannot be replicated (peep our Instagram for some highlights). Next on her Art Basel takeover, she heads to RÜFÜS DU SOL’s Rose Avenue at Factory Town on Thursday along side fellow girl bosses AIRRICA, Chloe Caillet, DESIREE, and Milushka – grab tickets here!

The Journey to New Beginnings
As she lays down roots for new beginnings, TSHA remains grounded in the joy of producing music and reconnects with the human elements of being an artist. Overflowing with emotions ranging from Euphoria to solemnity, her work reflects intimate experiences and personal connections, stemming from a profound and enduring love for electronic music. TSHA has devoted herself wholeheartedly to her pursuits. Reflecting on the past year, she notes, “I’ve found my footing a little bit,” according to her Beatportal cover story. She goes on to express that she has immersed herself in her work, feeling less stressed about tour life and the industry, resulting in a positive state of affairs now.
TSHA has been broadening the reach of her personal club night. Following its success in Sound in LA, she is set to organize an event in New York in January. Expressing her long-held desire to host her own parties, she enthusiastically states to Beatportal, “I want to establish an environment that is both safe and inclusive, allowing people to express themselves freely.” Her aspiration is to transform Jackfruit into no-phones event, creating a space where attendees can dance all night without distractions.”
